A guide for students trained outside the U.S.
Pasado is a software engineer in a high-tech companies. He is happy in her company, but I know that a diploma will help you move more, his company would reimburse tuition fees.
Pasado has always been proud of his degree in Computer Science from a good school in India. So it was surprised and disappointed that he could not, the MBA program at a local public school are included. The reason for this is that his degree had a three-year program in Indianot the traditional 4-year degree.
Jobs staff educated beyond the U.S., which usually come to the country have their credentials evaluated private companies. These "professional status and experience evaluations show" is usually what is college credits for employees and experience the United States has ever graduated. This assessment is to grab one for use only for graduates of the program for admission to a local no.
If you are employed, would like a graduateDegree and were trained outside the United States, here are some tips for pursuing a graduate of the United States
1) Have you reviewed the credentials from an accredited school or foreign agency to determine if the degree is equivalent to a U.S. Bachelor 's Degree.
Two ways to obtain this information:
A. Choose a university degree course you want to use and great deals.
The school, as part of the admission process, evaluated before classes and references. The advantage: No additional cost for theForeign transcript evaluation. The downside: You may need to complete the entire authorization before receiving the results and may be rejected if you study is your degree transcripts show no equivalent in the United States.
B. If you have your credentials evaluated before applying.
The National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACE accredited) Educational Credential Evaluators or World as evaluator assessment services to perform this service. MoreUniversities recognize the outcome of this assessment company. The advantage of using a private service evaluation: we will know in advance whether foreign credentials are equivalent to the United States. The downside: There is a fee attached to these services by about $ 100 - $ 150
2) Plan on the Test of English as a Foreign Language accept (TOEFL). The TOEFL test is a computer-based, so are the immediate results. Nearly all degree programs require the TOEFL for students educated outside theUSA. There are many good books and software available to study for the TOEFL. Please visit: toefl.org
3) Plan to take the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), if the demand for MBA or Graduate Record Exam (GRE) for non-professional courses: computer science, engineering, psychology, history and biology, etc. Information which can be found these tests on this site: mba.com; gre.org. Check if your chosen universities require this test for admission or otherAs the Miller Analogies Test (MAT).
4) As soon as your foreign transcript evaluated and explained, "US-equivalent" and you have the TOEFL, the Graduate School to examine the request is included, as someone trained in the United States. Schools will admit to a combination of several criteria: doctoral degrees (or brands), GRE or GMAT scores, college reputation, the kind of big work experience, written recommendations and other factors.
IfTheir training abroad is not a synonym for American standards, courses must be kept for a diploma. Several universities, including some online degree programs offer a bridge program for students with a three-year degree. Students take 30 units of academic credit for make-up for the fourth school year, but in general the requirements for obtaining the Master are also included.
Pasado found a bridge program in university near his house and takes her30 units are included in the MBA program. He discovered that the bridge program helped him with his writing skills, communication skills and entrepreneurial skills and classes were based on the conditions he needed.
